Masters Degree Apprenticeship In Project and Programme Management
QUBE – A Super-real, Immersive Learning Environment
Advances in digital technology have allowed us to create learning and teaching experience as rich as (or emotionally richer) than we have achieved traditionally. Although there have been advances in Webinars, SPOCs, Moocs and Chat they all fail to capture the full human experience needs of effective learning. The drop-out rates are horrendous, with drop out rates of around 60%. There are many causes. With other approaches students have no emotional connection with their tutors. They will feel no peer pressure or support from their cohort. They will be unable to make friends and acquaintances during the course. Overall the course will just feel a chore with no pleasure to it.
In addition, the design philosophy can block the results. For example, Webinars are designed to be instructor led and largely about broadcast from one-to-many. This is perfect for dissemination of information, but students will not be able to interact to challenge their tutors or other participants. They will be unable to debate each other and their mastery of the subject will be untested and superficial.
We propose a better way to learn
The above figure summarises the challenges faced. Super-real immersive applied learning is about:
- Interacting with people not just data
- One way and multi-way interaction, including the possibility of effective 1:1 coaching
- Enables not just content but application and capability building.
This Apprentice Course is designed for Block 5 in the above diagram, the most quality demanding block. That means it will support all the other blocks also.
Immersive super-real environments surpass real, physical environment. not only is the participant immersed, they discover they can do things that are impossible in the physical world, do things faster, with more inclusion and more creativity! There is no need to reference the external world. All the teaching, meetings, coaching, coursework, line manager updates etc. will take place within the immersive environment.
The Apprentice Programme Campus on QUBE
QUBE has a distinctive name for rooms within the campus. They are called qubicles and will take different shapes, forms and sizes to suit the activity taking place in them. The figure shows the campus map and should act as a guideline as to what your employee can expect.
QUBE community – Additional events on QUBE
There is also huge community on QUBE of leaders, managers, CEOs, Project Leads and many other specialists. Employees can take the advantage of being on the Apprenticeship course to join in with other QUBE events such as the Inspiration sessions.
