Masters Degree Apprenticeship In Project and Programme ManagementWhiteboardTop

Making This Distinct and the Best Experience

Your organisation is at the forefront in our fast changing and complex world because it recognises that developing skills and capability is of the highest priority. You are also fully aware that in our world of ambiguity and uncertainty, possessing a world-class ability to lead & deliver change through projects and programmes will make your organisation both successful and attractive to the work force.

Considering an Apprentice programme as a route to develop these skills and capabilities is an immensely sensible approach.  Your challenge is to find a programme which will satisfy the complex range of needs the employee, their line management and your organisation have.  Such as:

  • Will the Apprenticeship schedule fit with day to day work schedule and pressures?
  • Will the line manager be supportive of the employee and be positively active to help them succeed?
  • Will the apprenticeship programme teach concrete concepts and tools which can be applied quickly during the programme to get incremental benefit?
  • How easy will it be to transfer new methods and ideas back to incumbent teams, the work place and culture?
  • Will employees expand their network of contacts and get a chance to understand and compare their capabilities with other people at their stage in professional development?

And we are certain you have many others.

We’ve designed this programme with your organisation’s needs at its centre.  And in case we missed anything out, we have also included opportunities for self-customisation to make it even better tailored for your organisation.  Your employees will also be provided with a personal tutor who will have a deep and continuing understanding of their needs and context.

We also use standard best practice for Level 7 apprenticeships for example: early application of learning, small tutorial groups, focus on theory application and so on. You can be assured of this as we have mapped against the Senior Leader Apprentice Standard.

Competences Covered

Research shows that high competence in ‘hard’ skills alone is insufficient to achieve peak performance in delivery of programmes and projects. In conditions of uncertainty and in complex, risky or ambiguous situations the need for a high competence in ‘soft’ skills becomes more pronounced. Most leading organisations now recognise the crucial importance of behaviour and culture change in underpinning success.

Successful Programme and Project Management relies on an ability to:

  • Understand and interpret the evolving strategic needs and outcomes and connect to the Business as Usual (BAU) activities of the organisation
  • Manage multiple, interdependent, challenging projects, tasks and risks
  • Persuade, influence, lead, engage and interact with multiple individuals & groups of stakeholders with conflicting and ever-changing interests.

The Scienceof Programme & Project Management focusses primarily on the knowledge information and understanding we would expect. Participants learn What they should do and are given the processes, systems and tools they should apply.

The ‘Art’ of Programme Management’ is about How the tools are applied:

  • How the Programme shapes reality into success despite the actual details of delivery
  • How the human factors are accounted for
  • How internal politics are overcome and used ‘judo-style’ to accelerate success

Employees will grow their mindset, behaviours and ‘personality’. They will develop intuition, skills and behaviours to influence and resolve complex programme situations. They will complete this course possessing the vision, habits & instincts to deal with human factors most effectively.

Easy Fit to Work Schedule and Commitments

We don’t want to spoil the surprise but if you look at “Learning on QUBE” you’ll get excited at the treat we have in store for your employees, their line manager and your organisation.

Using QUBE employees will be able to fully participate in the programme at the same time as being present with their work commitments and getting support and encouragement from their line manager.

Their line manager will also be delighted that QUBE allows them to manage the business as usual with minimal disruption whilst growing the employee’s skills and abilities.

Meets Organisation/Line Manager Needs & Transfers Learning Back to Work

Normally, with an apprentice programme the line manager inherits the challenge of having to balance the employee’s needs with the delivery of the programmes and projects they are accountable for, in their absence. Therefore, we have designed the access to the programme to remove the pressures of being ‘out of office’. Line managers will be delighted!  Their team will feel supported by the employee during the process. Most importantly, the pressures on the employee will also be decreased.

Furthermore, if your organisation has enough apprentices to support its own cohort, you can customise timing of the course to the needs of your organisation. For example, if you wish to split teaching up into two-hour segments and schedule these at a particular time, this can be accommodated.

Distinctive Coverage: Content, Concepts, Tools and Behaviours

You are also going to be pleasantly surprised by the content of the programme. Alongside the theory and wider concepts, we will provide your employees with a set of practical tools and concepts on all the key topics. These are referred to as Performance Enhancement Tools or PET’s. These tools are ‘bite-sized’, allowing employees to engage people at work in a method, bring them quickly up to speed and deliver a result together collaboratively. All of this at pace! You will find that these PET’s become the ‘go to’ reference library for real life application of their learning.

To quote a Pentacle training alumnus, “…these PETs have served me incredibly well over many projects and programmes for the past 25 years”.
